I don’t think there’s a single negative thing I could say about Leslie Street Daycare. Both of my children absolutely loved their time here, and it’s easy to understand why. The educators plan such a wonderful mix of crafts, sensory play, and engaging activities that the kids are always excited and stimulated. I’ve seen so much development in both of my children thanks to everything they’ve learned and experienced here. The teachers are truly exceptional—warm, patient, and genuinely caring. My kids felt supported and happy every single day, and it was so clear how much they adored their teachers. Communication is outstanding, far better than what I’ve experienced elsewhere. We received multiple photo updates throughout the day, and anytime I reached out through the Brightwheel app, I got a quick and reassuring response. It really gives you peace of mind as a parent. The daycare building may be older, but it adds so much charm to the centre. It’s always clean and organized, and the child-sized bathrooms help foster independence in such a thoughtful way. And the meals—amazing! The variety is incredible. It’s not the typical sandwiches and wraps; the kids get to try different flavours and cuisines, and it even encouraged mine to try new foods at home. I truly can’t say enough good things about Leslie Street Daycare. If you’re considering enrolling your child, you can feel confident knowing they’ll be cared for, supported, and genuinely loved.

long review ahead, sorry: I LOVE LOVE LOVE this daycare and all the staff. My oldest was there for a month during COVID, it was a first time experience with any daycare and things were good, so I didn't think anything of it. Then I had to withdraw my kid briefly and had to send him to a different daycare while we were on Leslie Street's waitlist. It was night and day! Only then did I know how great Leslie Street Daycare was. I was so glad that we were able to get back with Leslie Street. My kid stayed there until it was time for JK and I sent my second kid there too. From the exterior, it might not seem much - it's not a shiny new building like some other daycares. That just means they've been in business for a long time! I like that it's not beside a big open road, so it's safe from traffic. Even the parking lot isn't huge and busy with a lot of cars, but not so small that there is no space to park. The play area is gated. The front door is locked and only parents and staff have access. I liked that the director Tammy wasn't pushy, she was willing to share rates, and encouraged tours and questions, whereas other daycares I reached out to before were not willing to share rates until I've had a tour with them. It's privately owned, so it's not a big chain, and so you can tell by how everyone actually cares. Every staff, from the director, to the teachers, to the kitchen staff, everyone is friendly, responsible, patient, energetic and gives their whole heart for the kids. They share (so many) pictures and videos, almost live, everyday, in the Brightwheel app, which I love and appreciate and learned that not all daycares do. The Brightwheel app that they use is great too, you receive and send messages there, you can download the pictures and videos, you can report absences there too. In the toddler group (their youngest group), in addition to pictures and videos, they also update how much food was eaten, any diaper change and nap times. It's just SO thoughtful and reassuring especially for first-time parents and little ones going to daycare for the first time. My kids eat better at daycare than at home LOL. They've made friends at daycare that will be going the same school. There is enough work and stress as a working parent, so it's really reassuring to have a safe and amazing space to leave the kids. I can't compliment them enough. Reach out to them, book a tour, get on the waitlist. You won't regret it!

My daughter attended the Preschool and Junior Kindergarten programs at Leslie Street Daycare. Although she was initially very attached to me, she adjusted remarkably well once she started and quickly began to enjoy her time there. Tammy and the teaching staff were wonderful—always responsive and quick to reply to my emails and messages. I found the centre to be a calm and nurturing environment that helped my daughter feel comfortable and supported. I also appreciated the daycare’s app, which provided frequent updates and daily photos, keeping me well-informed about her activities. I was very pleased with their approach to learning and the thoughtfully planned daily activities that fostered the children’s cognitive, social, and physical development. The meals were freshly prepared onsite, and I was impressed by the centre’s cleanliness, as classrooms and washrooms were mopped and sanitized daily. I Highly recommend this center to any parent looking for a high-quality daycare.

My son was with Leslie Street Daycare since he was just over 18 months. He's been in all their classes from toddler to JK, and he loved every one of his classes. The teachers he's had were all amazing and very caring. He's made some great friends while he was there and truly loved going there every day. Personally, I loved that the meals were freshly cooked every day on site. The center is very clean. And I found that the turnover rate for teachers here were pretty low. Tammy is also very responsive, and always answered my emails quickly. The teachers are all very friendly, so if you ever have any questions about your kid, they always take the time to chat with you at pick up time if needed.

My little toddler’s daycare journey at Leslie Street was a real blessing—thanks to recommendations from family and friends. Now that he’s about to graduate and head off to JK, I want to say a huge thank-you from the bottom of my heart. Every teacher at Leslie Street is not only highly qualified but genuinely loving toward the children. As a sensitive mom, I deeply felt the warmth and sincerity in how the staff care for the kids. From the creative crafts my son brings home each day to every sign of progress in language, thinking, and routine—that growth speaks volumes about how professionally and patiently they guide him. The meals are daily fresh cooked from their own kitchen, healthy and tasty. The outdoor play is plentiful, and he’s stayed safe, happy, and totally thriving each day. Special thanks to Miss Cathy, Miss Alley, and Miss Bronwyn—your loving, patient, and expert care has been such a gift, you rock! And thank you to Tammy for always being so responsive and keeping the communication flowing. Our family can’t thank you enough. I had the most wonderful experience with Leslie Street daycare. The center is very clean, well-organized, and welcoming. Ms. Cathy and Ms. Alley were absolutely fantastic with my daughter - she truly loved going every day. Their warmth, care, and professionalism made a big difference in her early learning journey. Highly recommend this daycare to any parent looking for a nurturing and well-run environment.

Our daughter was enrolled in the preschool program and absolutely loved it. At her previous daycare she hated it & cried everyday. But she ABSOLUTELY loved Leslie from her first day there. Her teachers Ms.Cathy & Ms.Jini were one with the kids. they were always singing and enjoying with the kids when we went by. Being a first time mom, i was so glad to have found this place and I could finally put my worries behind as I was sure my daughter was being taken care of really well. The timely & super cute picture and videos were also an added bonus and kept us posted of their day to day activities. The weekly activities like show and share enabled the kids to actually share their toys and also taught them to talk a lot about the toy they had brought. I found my daughter asking more questions and also being able to describe anything & everything due to this. Her attention to detail increased greatly. Food was made on site and it was served hot to the kids and they were more than willing to accommodate dietery restrictions. The teachers were very patient with potty training our daughter as well. My kid's art work over the course of the year was saved and once she graduated we received a scrapbook from her teachers. This is such a cute idea. The book is soooo pretty with pictures and my child's progress over the year. This book is definitely one of our most treasured possessions right now. All in all I'm sure happy my daughter got to be a part of the Leslie daycare family. We will recommend this place to everyone considering. 🙂
